Rooms C and D are departmentalized
Room C - Miss Terrie
Miss Terrie teaches math, money and time using the Touch Math Program to both classrooms. Room C has students who are middle-school age. They enjoy working with "money" and occasionally buying items. This is Miss Terrie's first year at Morning Star School.

Room D - Miss Susan
Miss Susan teaches reading, phonics, and spelling using Reading Milestones. Room D are also older boys and girls. All of these students are also involved in the Best Buddies program at Morning Star. We buddy up with Bishop Moore students once a month for an activity and they join us for our prom in May which is the highlight of the year for Best Buddies.

Room One - Miss Karry
This year Room 1 is all boys. They are between the ages of 16 and 20. Miss Kary's class was accepted into the Southwest Airlines classroom program last year. Their pilot, Captain Calvin, came to visit the class and they took many field trips to surrounding airports with him. It was an honor to have been selected. And our students did so well, that Captain Calvin asked the program be extended another year for our school. Room 1 and 2 were also selected this year for the local Chef's program. A chef will visit our school on a regular basis and teach those students cooking skills. The students thoroughly enjoy both of these programs - along with their regular academics, of course! Room Two - Miss Kim
Room 2 is a self-contained class between the ages of 8 and 11. These students focus on our reading program, Reading Milestones and Touch Math for math, money and time. This year they are also learning to grow vegetables. We are waiting for pumpkins to come up in the fall. Top of Page
Computer Lab - Miss Mary
Miss Mary runs our computer lab on Mon., Wed., and Fri. She teaches adaptive PE on Tues. and Thurs. Miss Mary has been at Morning Star for 9 years and enjoys teaching the students how to produce power-point presentations and completing a CD for our 'graduates' each year. Our adaptive PE program has shown significant improvement in our students coordination and self-confidence since we began this program 6 years ago.
All of our classes also have religion classes daily. We attend Mass on Monday mornings at St. Charles. Our classes focus on Bible stories, the Golden Rule and we prepare Catholic students to receive the sacraments of baptism, First Eucharist, Reconciliation and Confirmation. We are extremely proud of our students acceptance of and caring for each other.
